Sauvignon Blanc
Phenology: Bud break: early.
Ripening time: early.
Agronomic characteristics: Very vigorous growth, requiring loose, not very fertile soils that show no tendency to water logging. Root stock has a weakening effect.
Cane pruning is preferable. Moderate – high yield. Drought sensitive.
Highly susceptible to eutypa, to grey rot, susceptible to oidium, black rot and to wood diseases. Moderately resistant to mildew.
Oenological potential: Very elegant and balanced dry white wines.
Varietal aromas present during the early years in particular.
Offering different hints depending on the soil, ageing and growing conditions.
Late harvests or with botrytis can produce great liqueur wines.
